Project Launch: 1-12-24
The Eradicate Hepatitis B Project will use $3,085.18 from World Connect to combat Hepatitis B misinformation, enhance screening rates, and increase the uptake of the Hepatitis B vaccine among the residents of Lalupon community in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The project encompasses a multifaceted approach, including a four-week Hepatitis B Education and Sensitization Campaign targeting 2,500 women, led by influential community figures. Free Hepatitis B screening services will be provided, with a goal of screening at least 200 women for early detection. Positive cases will be linked to health facilities for specialized care, ensuring comprehensive support. Additionally, a vaccination drive will be conducted, targeting 100 women, including pregnant and lactating mothers, at the Lalupon Primary Healthcare Centre. The project will also develop and translate Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to sustain awareness beyond the campaign's duration, fostering a lasting impact on Hepatitis B prevention in the community.
