Mkhuthe Community Association Goat Farming Project
Project Launch: 11-9-22
Mkhuthe Community Association will implement a goat farming project. The activities will include purchasing 75 goats and constructing a goat pen in the community. The income realized will support members, build a village business center, and support children and people in need of social support in their community.
Project Update: 2-20-23
Mkhuthe Community Association has completed construction of two goat pens with one fully completed and the other at 90% with installation of doors and windows remaining. A total of 140 women have also undergone trainings in goat farming, financial management and project management. The skills and knowledge attained in these trainings will not only help the women with management and sustainability of the current project but also with all other projects carried out within their community. With the remaining 40% funding, the group will purchase 25 goats and get the rest vaccinated. This project will improve the economic status of the women once they start making sales of the goats in July 2023.
