The Construction of Ngombende Underfive Clinic
Project Launch: 10-14-24
Mndembo Village Development Committee, in partnership with Mudzi Connect, is launching the construction of Ngombende Under-Five Clinic to address the pressing issue of malnutrition affecting 19 out of every 310 children in the community. With a coinvestment of $6,438.61, this project aims to provide accessible healthcare services to young children and their mothers. Currently, the community relies on a borrowed structure originally built as an ADMARC, repurposed as a temporary clinic, as the nearest health facility, Msakambewa Health Center, is 6 km away. The new clinic will improve healthcare access for mothers and children, significantly enhancing early childhood health outcomes and reducing the burden of malnutrition.
Project Update: 1-16-25
After two months of funding, the Mndembo Village Development Committee has made significant progress in constructing a 10.5m by 7m Ngombende Under-Five Clinic in the area. Currently, 60% of the project funds have been utilized to complete the structure up to the roofing stage with door and window frames installed. Once completed, this clinic will not only shorten the distance women travel to access essential healthcare services but also help reduce malnutrition cases among under-five children in the community.
